They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. After a year of planning, many sleepless nights and a few tears the day finally came to say au revoir to Cheam, and our journey of twenty five thousand miles officially began…..
The last few days in the UK are all about heart breaking good bye dinners and lunches with UK family and friends – luckily we’ll see family briefly in May, some intrepid friends during our travels, and everyone in October – but that doesn’t make it easier. Many thanks to all for the support, best wishes, and hang overs that have seen us on our way!
A few tense days were spent getting the van ready to go…..a drill through our main water pipe five days before departure caused some panic and a very soggy bottom, but all was resolved and we are now packed to the gills with every travel game under the sun and so few clothes that we may have to join a naturist colony!
Sunday sees us on the ferry to Spain and Portugal – watch out for the first of the blogs from Europe next week.
